Happy Sunday, everyone! Hope you’ve had a relaxing weekend.
If you haven’t heard of the new Naked Heat Palette by Urban Decay yet, you’ve been hiding under a rock. It’s literally everywhere and social media and for a good reason. There was a little bit of controversy before this palette came out wherein some really terrible swatches came out and everyone kind of lost it. But when the palette finally came out, everyone was stunned at the quality of the shadows. So, which one is it? Read on to find out!
First, here are all the colors:
There’s a nice mix of mattes and shimmers in this palette, which is a nice step up from the previous Naked palettes. There used to be a little too many shimmers for my taste, but with this palette, you really can create a myriad of beautiful looks all within the same palette. I love the color scheme, too. It’s fitting for a summer release and I really just am in love with orange-y, red colors like this. However, there’s also enough variety in the palette to be able to create a lot of different looks without the colors all looking the same on the eye. The only two colors I would say are pretty similar are He-Devil and Cayenne, but even then, they turn out different when you put them on.
Some of the colors don’t swatch great, as you can tell. But honestly, when I put the colors on my eyes, they turn out opaque and beautiful. Here’s one example of me using the palette one day when I felt good about how my makeup was turning out.
There’s a little but of fallout with the shadows, but not enough to deter me from putting the colors on. If you’re put off by the amount of fallout in, say , the Lorac Pro palettes, I think you’ll be fine with this. When you dip your brush or finger in, the shadows aren’t super soft, so they won’t come crumbling out. But, you still get a great amount of color payoff.
Some of the mattes in previous Naked Palettes haven’t been great, but I can’t say the same for this one. The mattes are all stunning and just as opaque as the shimmers, which can be really hard to pull off.
All in all, Urban Decay hit it out of the park with this one. I can’t find a single thing I dislike about the palette, to be quite honest. I’ve been using this palette almost every day and won’t be stopping soon. If you love these kinds of colors, definitely check this palette out! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
