I’ll admit – I’m a total Tarte junkie. They’re cruelty-free, paraben-free, and I just love their whole vibe. So today, I hit up my local Ulta and went crazy. Well, I got four things, but that’s actually pretty damn expensive!
I love highlighters, so I’m totally down for highlighting palettes with four or more shades. And as a contour amateur, I love experimenting with different types of contouring products. After swatching this in store, this baby was calling my name. I’ll show you what the swatches look like on my skintone.
The shades aren’t too wide in variety, but they’re different enough to complement a variety of skintones. Here are the contour shades swatched:
Shade is a cream contour and sculpt is a cool-toned powder. If you have a tan/olive complexion like myself, I think these shades will suit you perfectly. Whether you like powder or cream for your contour, these formulas both feel smooth and easy to work with.
Rubbing some of this on the back of my hand made it feel incredibly smooth and soft. I have dry skin so I normally tend to avoid mattifying primers, but I do often get an oily t-zone, and this primer feels almost hydrating. I’m excited to use this on my face!
As a dry-skinned girl, I need all the hydration I can get, so this setting spray looked right up my alley. The mist is extremely fine and it smells like cucumber (which gives me total spa vibes)! You can wear this before you start your makeup, as a finishing spray, or just to freshen up your face throughout the day. I just sprayed this all over my face after wearing my makeup all day and I have to say, it feels really nice. As for its effectiveness as a primer spray or a setting spray, I can’t say yet but I’m excited to try it out!
5. Amazonian Clay Waterproof Matte Bronzer in Park Ave Princess
So, I screwed up. I did. I meant to get the deeper shade of this called Hotel Heiress but picked up Park Ave Princess by mistake. Oops. I’m still going to try this out before I return it, but if you have a deeper skintone, I would definitely go for Hotel Heiress. I love the prospect of a waterproof bronzer for summer so even if this color doesn’t work for me, I’m definitely going to go and get Hotel Heiress because who doesn’t want to be bronzed in and out of the pool?!
And that’s all I got! Thanks for reading folks and I hope you enjoyed this little haul!
