There’s a way to mimic a summer glow using just makeup (which you can read about here), but one of my favorite tricks for a glowy face starts with one ingredient.
That’s right, folks – argan oil! Not only is this stuff amazing for your skin, but it makes your hair soft and heals your cuticles. This is such a versatile ingredient and is my secret trick for creating dewy skin without needing highlighter.
What I do is either massage a few drops into my face before I put on my dewy foundation (you want to avoid matte foundations for this trick), or I mix it in the foundation before I put it on. I don’t use a primer underneath as the oil would mix with its ingredients and make the primer essentially useless.
Then, I powder lightly on the areas I can get oily in the heat. Normally, my dry skin doesn’t produce much excess oil, but in the summer, I can get sweaty which causes me to get oily in my t-zone. So, I’ll lightly powder my forehead, nose, and chin, but leave the rest be. I’ve tried this technique with only long-lasting foundations, so I would stick to those if you’re planning to try this trick.
If you have oily skin, I have to say I would use one of your favorite luminous powders to set your foundation so you’re still getting the glow, but you don’t turn into an oil slick.
Have you tried this trick before? And what do you think of it if you have? Hope you’re all having a great weekend!
