My skin fluctuates from dry/combination, and I have eczema that flares up on my face, so hydration is very important to me. I need to put moisturizer on at least twice a day or my skin will begin to feel tight and dry as the Sahara. These products have really helped out with my dryness and the eczema on my face. Read on if you’re interested!
I love the consistency of this stuff. It’s like a gel and a lotion at the same time, and it sinks into your skin really quickly, giving you instant relief to dehydrated skin. Clinique describes this product as “giving a drink of water to your skin”, and I would agree completely. It leaves my skin feeling plump and rejuvenated, and it’s perfect for applying before you do your makeup.
Oatmeal is of the most effective natural ingredients in combating eczema. You can even smell the oatmeal in this stuff – it smells like bread dough when you squeeze it out. This isn’t a permanent solution for me, but it provides temporary relief and leaves my skin super soft. And, of course, it’s accepted by the National Eczema Association, which certainly doesn’t hurt!
It’s a classic for a reason! When I get a really bad eczema flare-up or my skin is crazy dry, I’ll literally slather this stuff all over my face before I go to bed. When I wake up, my skin is significantly less irritated and completely hydrated. It also makes an amazing lip balm.
This lotion is extremely liquidy and sinks into the skin almost instantly. It’s great for layering and really plumps my skin. If you’re looking for something that doesn’t feel heavy on the skin but still hydrates, this is for you!
On the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of consistency, we have the Ultra Repair Cream. It’s super thick and creamy, but crazy hydrating. One caveat – I wouldn’t use this on eczema, even though it says you can. Personally, when I put it on eczema flare-ups it makes my skin burn for about a minute. But don’t let that deter you if you have dry skin that’s eczema-free! On my dry patches, this stuff works wonders. I’ll keep a small jar of it in my purse and bust it out whenever I have dry hands. It’s a cult favorite for a reason!
And that’s all for today, folks! I hope this list gave you some ideas if you’re a dry skin/eczema sufferer like myself. These products have all really helped improve my skin. If you have dry skin and have a holy grail product you swear by, let me know!
