Happy Monday, everyone! Hope everyone is having a productive day.
Today’s post is about one of my favorite makeup items: Highlighters.
I’m a total Highlighter Junkie. Literally, I want all the highlighters I can get my hands on, even though I have yet to hit pan on even one. Swatching them in stores gives me an immeasurable amount of joy and putting them on my face until you can see the glow from space is my favorite pastime.
Highlighters can be expensive, but there are some amazing affordable dupes out there that I’m here to share with you! As much as I love Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors, not everyone wants to dish out 40 plus dollars on one highlighter. Read on to see my favorite highlighters and some affordable dupes!
Look at the swatches on my arm and try to tell which highlighter is over $10.
You can’t right? This just goes to show you don’t need to dish out a small fortune for a good highlighter. Here are some of my favorites.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal
The OG highlighter. It’s around $40, which is crazy, but it is stunning and will probably last you forever. If you’re willing to invest, it’s a great option! The following will be more affordable.
This baby is only around $20, which is still on the pricier side, but around half of what you’d be paying for if you opted for Becca. Gilded Honey is my favorite on my skintone, but they have a couple other beautiful shades as well.
Wet N’ Wild MegaGlo Highlighter in Crown of My Canopy and Precious Petals
As you can see, Crown of My Canopy is more of a dark shade that would suit deeper skin tones. Precious Petals is more of a light gold and more similar to Opal. The shine on these guys is incredible. You’ll be glowing all day, trust me.
Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips in Natural Nude
You can use this as an eyeshadow palette or highlighter, which is what I did here. I rubbed my finger over all the shades and swiped it. So, when you’re applying it on your face, you can do that with your brush or focus the brush in one area of the product to get a customized color. Mixing them all together creates a pretty pink shade that will look beautiful on paler skin.
Wet N’ Wild Highlighter In Boozy Brunch
And last, but certainly not least, my favorite affordable highlighter of the bunch. Swirl your brush around in this palette to get an almost identical dupe for Becca’s Opal. The color, finish, and lasting power are the exact same.
These highlighters from WnW are kind of old, so it may be a little harder to find them, but if you see them, definitely snatch one up for the perfect golden glow.
Have you tried any of these highlighters? What’s one of your favorites?
I hope this post was helpful in giving you some ideas for a good highlighter! Happy glowing!
